* The Spring 2023 GSU Demo Day event provides an opportunity for Computer Science students (undergraduate and graduate) to present and demonstrate their latest research. Come see many exciting projects from various groups in the Computer Science department. The event is sponsored by the GSU University Career Services, Department of Computer Science and ACM Student Chapter
* This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your work and see what other students are up to. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The event will feature a poster/demo competition, with posters/demos being evaluated by faculty and invited guests from Industry. The best posters/demos will be recognized and awarded
* Who Can Participate
Poster/demo submissions are open to both undergrads and graduate students in the Computer Science department. A poster/demo can be related to research or class projects. If it is based on a class project, please include the instructor as the mentor in the registration form. Ph.D. candidates are strongly encouraged to participate in this event and present their research

* TechTogether's Atlanta Chapter is hosting the city's third hackathon from April 22-23rd, 2023 for people of marginalized genders in technology at Georgia Tech. This is an amazing opportunity for students from all local universities to network with companies like Microsoft and Capital One, explore different career paths in tech, and learn new coding skills. * There is an IEEE University Partnership Program (UPP), they would like to sponsor some IEEE student branch members' attendance at the 2023 IEEE Vision, Innovation, and Challenges Summit (IEEE VIC Summit) & Honors Ceremony<https://corporate-awards.ieee.org/event/2023-vic-summit-honors-ceremony-gala/> which will be held at the Hilton Atlanta on Friday, 5 May 2023. IEEE will cover registrations for up to 8 students plus reimbursement for ubers to and from the event
* At VICS, CreateX is going to demo some of their projects and the organizers are planning to gamify this experience. Vint Cerf is the IEEE Medal of Honor recipient this year and he will also be a speaker at the event, along with other company leaders from AT&T, Truist, and Earthlink. All meals will be provided at the conference on Friday, including a formal dinner during the awards ceremony that evening
* Student attendees will be able to participate in the Knowledge Alliance Program, a mentor-mentee program that takes place at the event between career professionals and undergraduate students. It pairs individuals together in establishing a mentoring partnership for guidance in multiple areas such as career, education, leadership, and volunteering. This program serves as a way for students to experience the Summit by personally connecting with someone from within their field and making a professional alliance
* There will also be a pre-event (welcome reception) at the Georgia Aquarium on 4 May for anyone interested in attending. That will start around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and food will be available at the reception.

* Recruiting participants for RESORC: REsearch Exposure in Socially Relevant Computing
* Syracuse University is offering a research exposure workshop, funded by Google Research, to expose undergraduate underrepresented computing students (including Latinx, African American, American Indian or Indigenous and LGBTQIA+) to what socially relevant computing research can look like, to help them build self-efficacy and become stronger candidates for doctoral programs, and to influence their career choices by providing a supportive community of peers.
