Dear students, There is a new grad student working group for students doing research focused on the city of Atlanta. If you are interested, please email Georg Usmano ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and see below for previous correspondence about the group and a note about their first meeting. Over the weekend a couple more people were able to fill out the doodle poll. We will be having our first meeting this Friday (29th) from 1 to 2pm in Langdale Hall room 939 and via Webex (link to my personal room: https://gsumeetings.webex.com/meet/gusmanov1). Please feel free to use whichever mode of meeting is best for you. In addition to this email, I will be sending out a calendar invite. The goal for our first meeting is to hear what ideas people have for the working group and to decide a general direction. We will also discussion the frequency of when we want to meet and where. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to reach out! A few people have completed the doodle and after running into a couple people around campus I know more are going to do so soon. So, as of now it seems like most people can meet on Friday Oct 29th from 1 to 2 pm. I will wait a couple more days for others to give input and then send out an outlook/webex invite for that time. That being said, two of the options to meet are today from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3pm. We will not meeting at those times. As a note to all, of those that complete the doodle for a meeting time they will be included in future emails and webex invites and I will leave off others to avoid filling up mailboxes. If you are not able to come, but wish to be included in future emails please let me know. Have a great weekend! For those who could not attend the meeting, please find Amy Spring’s notes at the bottom of this email. These are by no means what the groups is doing, rather an overview of what was discussed. Since many of us are spread throughout the larger Atlanta metro area the student working group will be meeting in a hybrid format to make sure all are included. For now, it will be best to figure out a date and time that is best for everyone to meet. This first meeting will hone in on what members want to do in future meeting. Below are some proposed dates and times. There is a link for a doodle poll so you can mark what date(s) work best for you. 1. Friday (22nd): 1:00pm to 2:00pm 2. Friday (22nd): 2:00pm to 3:00pm 3.
