Subject: toaster oven

Hi all,

I just walked into the 25PP 6th floor kitchen and the toaster oven was plugged in and turned on (but with nothing in it) and there was a paper plate up against its side starting to get scorch marks.

The toaster oven will catch on fire if it is left on with no one watching it.  It has done so in the past, actually (more than once), but was quickly caught.

PLEASE unplug the toaster oven when you are done if you use it.  Do not walk away and leave it unattended if it is on.  And if you are in the kitchen and you see it has been left plugged in but it is not being used, pull the plug out from the wall.

I'm sure we would all prefer to (a) not have the building catch on fire, and (b) not have the sprinklers turn on and destroy all our computers.

Thanks for helping keep an eye on this,
Misty
