Dear graduate students,
I wanted to let you know about a possible ethnographic project for summer 2020 that I am planning where there MIGHT be funding for two students to do summer ethnographic research in Costa Rica, focused on the lives of indigenous youth living in the Boruca Indigenous Territory in southern Costa Rica. This is very preliminary—I am currently preparing a grant application for a competitive National Geographic grant and it is very possible that this will NOT be funded. If it IS funded, I would be looking for two students who (1) will have taken the ethnographic methods course by summer 2020 and (2) are fluent or at least competent Spanish speakers. This would be an opportunity to contribute to collaborative ethnographic work and the collected data could also be used for an MA thesis. If you are interested in learning more about the project, email me and come speak to me about it!
