Yes, it's more flexible in the final semester, as long as you are technically registered for 18.

Hi,

Am I ok with only GRA and thesis research hours? Plus my undergrad math class. I was only planning to take my math class this semester and write my thesis and be a TA.

Thank you,
Britni

Subject: Change in credit hour policy for GAs

Hi all,

According to our current policy, graduate assistants must register for a total of 18 hours: 10 regular course hours plus 8 non thesis research hours.

This policy has led to some awkward logistics in some cases - when the classes you want to take add up to only 9 credits - and some of you have had this problem in recent days. I've conferred with the faculty and effective now, the policy is that GAs must take at least 3 regular classes of at least 3 credits each. In other words, 9 credits of coursework are sufficient. Your total must still be 18, so add an additional non-thesis research hour if this applies to you.

Let me know if you have any questions!
