Dear Georgia State Tenured and Tenure-Track Faculty,
The Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development and University Research Services & Administration would like to announce the
Call for Proposals for the FY2016 Research Initiation and Scholarly Support Grant programs. The Research Initiation Grant (RIG) award aims to promote new scholarly, research initiatives that will result in external grant applications. The Scholarly Support
grant award aims to support the completion of scholarly and creative activity of the faculty that will result in a significant and prestigious product or outcome that is not an external grant application (e.g., major and prestigious publication, prestigious
fellowship, artistic product or production, major invention, etc.). Both grant awards are available to early career through more senior faculty scholars that are either tenured or on a tenure track at Georgia State University.
The official Call for Proposals for both the RIG and the Scholarly Support grants can be found in the
Research Portal on the Internal Grants landing page under Proposals & Awards, and also on URSA's
Internal Grants webpage. Internal grant applications are now submitted through the Research Portal. When on the Internal Grants landing page in the Portal, select Submit a New Grant and choose the grant type from the drop-down
menu. You can begin your application and save as a draft until you are ready to submit for routing. Routing the internal grant proposal for approvals is also done automatically through the Portal with email notifications to approvers and to the applicant for
status updates during the approval process.
If you have any questions about these grant opportunities or about the Internal Grants Program in general, contact
Dr. Kelly Stout via email or at 404-413-5475, or
Rose Baldwin by email or 404-413-3577.
Sincerely,
Kelly P. Stout, Ph.D.
Associate Director, Special Research Initiatives
