Georgia State University is implementing its revised Policy on Financial Disclosures in Sponsored Projects. Thank you to all investigators who have completed the necessary steps to become compliant with the federal regulation for Promoting Objectivity in Research.
If you have not yet completed the requirements, please take immediate action on the following:
Complete the annual
Significant Financial Interest Disclosure Form both now and prior to each funding proposal submission. This form resides at
http://www.gsu.edu/research/forms.html under “Conflicts of Interest/IP.”
Submit the Disclosure Form to
[log in to unmask] from your individual email address.
Complete the Conflict of Interest CITI training module. To access training, go to
https://www.citiprogram.org and log in or, if a new CITI user, follow the “Register Here,” link. Click “Add a course or update your learners group.” Answer, “Yes” to the question: “Would you like to take the Conflict
of Interest Course?” Click, “Continue” then “Conflict of Interest,” will appear under “My Courses.” Be sure to complete all four modules.
Complete and submit the new
Proposal Approval Form. This must be done for all proposals. Previous versions of the form will not be accepted after Aug. 17, 2012.
Quick tips to keep in mind:
This new policy requires all funding proposals be received in the Office of Sponsored Programs five (5) business days prior to the submission deadline. This lead-time will be
essential to meet the requirements of the new federal regulation. Please plan submissions according to this deadline.
Principal Investigators, departments and colleges are responsible for verifying the proposal is complete before submitting the proposal. Proposals missing regulatory requirements
(including Significant Financial Interest Disclosure Forms from all investigators) cannot be submitted under the new federal regulatory requirements.
We hope you and the investigators you work with find the checklist and tips useful. Be sure to visit URSA’s
Conflicts of Interest information webpage to learn more and submit questions or feedback.
