Here are some additional instructions concerning the call for
nominations and applications for departmental awards.
1. Directions for submitting the teaching portfolios can be found

2. You can submit one faculty letter of support for multiple nominations. However, the faculty support letter must highlight your achievements in each area that you are being nominated such as research, teaching and/or service.
3. All PhD students slated to graduate in 2012 will be considered for the Outstanding Graduate Student award.

- Those who have GPA 3.5 and above may send nominations to

2. Undergraduate Research Award: Awarded to a undergraduate
student who has performed outstanding research.
- Students should apply to to Professor King at [log in to unmask] by submitting a supporting
letter by Faculty Adviser briefly describing the nature and
significance of the research work since Jan 2011, and email any
additional material (paper, project report, etc.).
3. Outstanding Service Award: Awarded to undergraduate or graduate
student who has performed outstanding service activities.

nature and significance of the service activities since Jan 2011.
4. Graduate Teaching Award: Awarded to graduate students who have
performed outstanding teaching and related activities.
- Students should submit their teaching portfolios for course(s)
taught in 2011 and any additional material to Professor Weeks at [log in to unmask].
5. Graduate Research Award: Awarded to graduate students who have
performed outstanding research.
- Students should apply to me by submitting a supporting letter by
Faculty Adviser briefly describing the nature and significance of
the research work published/accepted for publication since Jan
2011 and email any additional material (papers, reviews,
conference/journal acceptance rate, etc).
6. Outstanding Graduate Student Award: Awarded to a senior
graduate student with an outstanding body of research
accomplishments over his/her stay at GSU along with supporting
teaching and/ or service activities.
- Students within a year of graduation should apply to me by
submitting a supporting letter by Faculty Adviser, a curriculum
vitae, and any additional material.
7. John Deere Diversity Fellowship for Graduate Student: The
purpose is to provide a fellowship of $2000 to a graduate student
with 3.0 GPA or higher who demonstrates exceptional promise in the
field of computer science, with preference for a minority or
female student.
- Students should apply to me by submitting a supporting letter by
a Faculty Adviser, a curriculum vitae, and any additional
material.
