[News from the Offi]

Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to announce the FY2017 Internal Grants for faculty investigators. This year the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development will sponsor the Research Initiation Grant program as well as two versions of the Scholarly Support Grant program, one for tenure-track faculty that are pre-tenure and one for tenured faculty.

Proposals will be accepted beginning Monday, October 26, 2015 with a final deadline of 5 pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Proposals must be submitted (routed for approval) through the Research Portal<http://research.gsuapps.com/>. All instructions for submission are in the official Calls for Proposals which can be found on the Research Portal homepage and on the Internal Grant Program webpage<http://ursa.research.gsu.edu/ursa/funding/funding-opportunities/internal-grant-program/>. Late proposals will not be accepted. We ask that PIs notify us when submit a proposal with a quick email to: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Internal grants are typically routed through the department chair and the college dean's office (check with that office for instructions). Once proposal is submitted in the Research Portal it will be electronically routed for approval to those persons listed by the applicant on the online proposal form. All approvals must be completed in the Research Portal within 5 days after the submission deadline.

Questions about the internal grants program can be directed to either Kelly Stout, Ph.D.<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or Rose Baldwin<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
