Dear Colleagues,

As the winter break approaches, we understand many will continue to work on research during the break. Below is a list of information regarding Georgia State University campus facilities that we hope you will find helpful.

Petit Science Center Receiving:
Dec. 22-23, 28, 30:
Open (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.)

Dec. 24-27, 29, Dec 31 - Jan 3:
Closed

Natural Science Center Central Receiving:
Dec. 22-23, 28-31:
Open (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.)

Jan. 1-3:

Laboratory Preparations:
URSA's Research and Environmental Safety team created a laboratory holiday break checklist that researchers and lab staff can use to ensure labs are prepared for the break. The laboratory winter break checklist<http://ursa.research.gsu.edu/files/2014/12/Laboratory-Winter-Break-Checklist-2.pdf> also contains a first responder door sign that should be posted on lab doors prior to leaving for the break.

Office of Sponsored Proposals and Awards (OSPA) Operations:
An OSPA officer will be available to provide assistance related to proposals and awards Dec. 28 - 31, 2015. Please be sure to send all requests for assistance to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with URGENT noted in the subject line if your request needs to be addressed immediately. OSPA will be monitoring this email box on the dates noted above and your request will be forwarded to either an OSPA officer or associate director.

Parking:
Researchers may use any Georgia State University parking facility for parking from Dec. 19, 2015 to Jan. 3, 2016 for which you already have a permit. You must have a Georgia State University parking permit or budget card to access the parking facilities. There will be no charge for parking during the break. Please note: the parking facilities will not be staffed during the break.

Security:
Georgia State police officers will continue to patrol campus during the break. You can request a police escort by calling 3-2100.

I would like to thank Georgia State's research community for its dedication to the university during the break, and send a special thank you to staff working during the break for their continued support.

Best regards,

James A. Weyhenmeyer, Ph.D.
Vice President for Research and Economic Development
