[News from the Offi]
From the Office of the Associate Vice President for Research
Dear Faculty,
The Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development are pleased to announce a new call for proposals for our internal Cities Grant program designed to provide seed funds for research collaborations that will support the 4th goal of our strategic plan<http://strategic.gsu.edu/preamble/goal-4/> to promote a better understanding of the complex challenges of cities in order to develop effective solutions. The goal of this internal grant mechanism is to provide support for interdisciplinary research collaborations between GSU and researchers at other universities/organizations in the U.S., or internationally. Particular emphasis will be placed on new research collaborations and research topics that extend current areas of strength and projects that will have a high probability of successfully competing for new federal funds. Proposed topics should clearly reflect research priorities of federal funding agencies. Proposals are due on March 29, 2013.
Approximately $250,000 will be available to support up to four awards for the upcoming fiscal year (pending the submission of meritorious applications). The funding maximum for each proposed project is $100,000, total costs, per project year (July 1 - June 30) and all grant funds must be expended during the fiscal year awarded.
Cities Grant details and proposal submission requirements can be found here<http://www.gsu.edu/images/vp_research/Cities_Grant_Call_for_Proposals.pdf>.
