The GSU chapter of the ACM presents

                      Why Information Security?

                          Charles Newberry
                Director, Information Security Office
                     Turner Broadcasting System

A short discussion about why information security is important and why it is not an obvious priority in corporations. In addition, what makes great information security professionals (at Turner)?

About the Speaker: As Director of the Information Security Office, Charles Newberry leads a team of risk and security professionals serving Turner's global footprint. He is responsible for setting Turner's security posture and providing risk-based guidance to management. In addition to his security responsibilities, Charles serves as an advisor to Turner's compliance and regulatory programs, which include Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, and Safe Harbor. He has spent most of his career managing application development teams for several companies, including The Coca-Cola Company, Sprint, and Turner Broadcasting System, before joining the Information Security Office.
Supporting his 23 years of information technology experience, Charles holds a B.A. in Business Information Systems from DeVry University.
