Quality Assurance Analyst / Software Tester
Description:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst/Software Tester who will
be carrying out test activities in the entire Software Development Life
cycle. This includes planning, analyzing, designing, and executing the
test plans, along with configuring and installing the revised software
version. There is also a customer service component, and the Software
Tester will be required to field, track and report customer problem
calls in addition to troubleshoot the issues.
Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or similar
field.
The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge in effective software
testing and is pro-active with a bias for action. He/She enjoys being a
major player in planning and executing tests of large scale software.
This role is geared to provide growth opportunity over time, and as
such, may have various assignments related to software quality assurance
analysis and leadership.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
? Work with members of the Software Development and Software Test
teams to design and implement software tests, and to documentbehaviorss
outside specified limits
? ACTIVELY participate in review meetings
? Perform and document software tests and report problems into
issue management databases
? Define test cases based upon requirements
? Reproduce software issues on in-house environments to assist in
diagnosis of reported software issues
? Meet assignment schedules and quality targets
? Work on Windows and UNIX environments
? Submit regular verbal presentations of test results and test
procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIRED:
? Working experience in software testing (white box, black box,
test case design )
? Working knowledge of test planning
? Working knowledge of the following areas: Windows, UNIX, DBMS
preferably Oracle
? Working experience with software development life cycle
? Knowledge of the following programming languages is desirable:
C/C++, PERL, Shell scripting, Visual Basic .Net
? Understanding of software configuration management
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
? Ability to travel (although unlikely)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints regarding quality
assurance from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community. Ability to effectively present information to
coworkers on an individual basis and in a group setting.
