Scholarship Opportunity:

         Now accepting applications for the Truist Technology Scholarship Program (see flyer) <>

o    Deadline is next Friday, April 23rd at  5pm

Club Event:

         Club Election Announcement: Monday, April 19th, applications for four Girls Who Code at GSU officer positions will open for anyone who is interested in applying. The positions that are open are the Social Media Officer, Vice President, Event Coordinator, and Treasurer. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking for leadership opportunities, or it can just be a way to become more involved in a student computer science organization! We'd love for anyone to join the board (feel free to join our GroupMe to receive the application link if interested).

Hack-a-thons & Competitive Programming:

         Volunteer at the FULLY VIRTUAL Coretta Scott King Black Girl STEM Brilliance Hackathon 2021

o    Where you will be tasked with volunteering to help students' access and judge the best projects

o    Being a part of this experience would be an excellent opportunity to help future women in STEM and would be an amazing asset on a resume

         5G Edge Computing Challenge with AWS and Verizon

o    GOAL: Submit your ideas for a creative application you plan to build in Round 2 that displays the benefits of AWS infrastructure running on Verizon's 5G Edge. (200 will advance to Round 2)

o    ROUND 2: Build out your Round 1 Idea with special access to AWS Wavelength and Verizon 5G

  PRIZES: $50,000 in prizes

  IDEA DEADLINE: April 25, 2021 11:45PM EDT


         The Worthy Web App Challenge

o    GOAL: Build or modernize a web app that is designed in some way to make the world a better place using Telerik UI for Blazor, Kendo UI for Angular or KendoReact front-end components.

  PRIZES: $40,000 in prizes

  DEADLINE: May 24, 2021 4:00pm EDT

         Bayer Digital Campus Challenge 2021<>: How digital technologies can be used in healthcare to improve people's lives? Students can develop solutions around 4 categories: Data-Driven Farming, Digital Therapeutics, Data Science and Cyber Security. This challenge is open to all study fields (Business, Engineering, IT, Innovation...), no technical skills are required.

o    Students can register until November 7th by uploading 10 PDF slides or less on our platform. The best students will pitch to Bayer's top management in Germany this winter. More information here:<>
