Hello CSc majors,
Please see the email below from Engineer in Residence, Rachel Min.

Hello Again from your Friendly Engineer in Residence, Rachel Min!

For those of you who have not heard of me by now, my name is Rachel Min, and I'm a software engineer at Facebook. I'm here for this semester as an adjunct professor teaching Data Structures, but I'm also here to get everyone jobs at Facebook. To do this, I want to insist that I am readily available as a resource for you! Even if you don't want to work at Facebook, I believe the information that I'll be teaching is valuable to anyone looking for a job in the tech industry. I'll be holding two weekly meetings that anyone is welcome to attend any week.

Programming Team
We'll be practicing questions from ICPC (a coding competition) every week in groups of three. This is great practice for technical interviews because you'll be practicing coding and explaining your code to other people at the same time. It relieves some pressure since you will work in a group, you can either get better at explaining your ideas or listening to other people's ideas and learning. I'll also be covering a new technique every week (like greedy algorithms), so come out to learn and code with partners!
When: Mondays 5-7pm
Where: Langdale Hall 200

Interview/Recruiting Prep
This is an hour a week where I'll be talking about important interview/recruiting prep topics. We'll start this coming week talking about Software Engineering Resumes. Come with your resume printed if you have it, so you can make notes on how to change your resume. If you don't have one yet, this is good knowledge to have before you build one. We'll continue to cover new topics every week surrounding interviews/recruiting!
When: Tuesdays 6:15-7:15
Where: Urban Life 100

If you're interested in either, I communicate weekly through a Slack (a free messaging app). If you'd like to join the slack, this is the link:

I also hold weekly office hours, where I am available at any time. I am in 25 Park Place #742 at these times:
Tues 4-6p
Wed 10a-12p
Thurs 12-2p

Best,
Rachel
