Dear PhD Student,

The 2021 Fall PhD qualifier exams will take place in September 2021. If you plan to take the exam, please fill in the following form by April 30th, 2021. This is a firm deadline. If you submit the form late, we may not be able to schedule your exam.

For your convenience, following are the primary requirements for the qualifier exams. More details can be found in the attachment and Graduate Catalog (https://catalog.gsu.edu/graduate20192020/college-of-arts-and-sciences/#computer-science).

1. Timeline Requirement: A typical student (one who is admitted to the Ph.D. program with no missing/very few foundation courses to take) is expected to take the qualifier exam no later than the third semester (excluding summers) after admission.

2. Curriculum Requirement: The student is expected to have completed three courses in two core areas (Theories and Systems) and received at least two A grades and one B grade.
