Dear Graduate Students,

Recently, some of you were asked to reduce the number of classroom taught courses where you are registered to 3. This includes the courses where you are waitlisted. Unfortunately, not everyone complied with this request. As a result, many students are unable to register at all, which jeopardize their graduation, support, and visa status.

In these circumstances, we kindly ask you again to reduce the number of registrations for classroom-taught courses (including waitlists) to 3 by 2PM tomorrow, August 22. At 2:01 PM, the department will start a random cancellation of course registrations to reduce the number of courses to the allowed limit. Please note that the 3-course limit applies only to classroom-taught courses and does not apply to CSC 8900, CSC 8999, CSC 8981, CSC 8982, CSC 8930 and other similar courses. It also does not apply to foundation courses that you are required to take.

If you believe that you have special circumstances that require you to take more than 3 courses (for example, if you are scheduled to graduate this Fall and these courses are required for your graduation), you can contact me.

If you are already registered for 3 classroom-taught courses or less, please ignore this message.

Sincerely yours,
