Graduate Students,
I am an undergraduate student at Winthrop University
majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in
Computer Information Systems, and I am currently working on
a research project for the McNair Scholars Program. I am
interested in the current condition of computer science
related undergraduate programs and the ways they can be
improved to promote diversity and retention. Therefore, the
overall purpose of my research is to identify and explore
the common variables that motivate students, particularly
women and minorities, to pursue graduate study within the
field. I will be collecting my data through the use of an
online survey, and I am asking for your assistance in doing
so. I would like for everyone to participate, despite your
race or gender. I understand that you are probably busy with
other things, but I am only asking for about 10-15 minutes
of your time. If you decide to participate, which I hope you
will, please be sure to read the informed consent located on
the first page of the survey before you begin. Your time and
input would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to
access the survey:

Thank You,
Chelsea Johnson
