Algorithms on Resource Management in Heterogeneous Networks Integration
Start: 12/09/2011 3:00 pm

Professor

This research, which is supported by NSFC, involves several algorithms on resource management in heterogeneous networks integration. The network selection problem in heterogeneous networks convergence can be formulated as a bipartite graph. The network selection algorithm based on weighted optimal bipartite graph is presented in order to maximize the match between access requests and available networks. The bi-directional resource reconfiguration based on multi-objective decision is solved by using a multi-dimensional Markov model and its performance is evaluated such that the dynamic load balancing among heterogeneous networks can be achieved. The power control in heterogeneous networks is also under discussion. Game theory is taken into account in double-deck game theory modeling, including primary power allocation and secondary power allocation, to maximize throughput and minimize energy consumption in the hierarchy. Through theoretical research, computer simulations, and necessary experiments, it is shown that more efficient resource utilization can be obtained in heterogeneous networks convergence systems by the proposed resource management algorithms.
