Fall 2018 GRA Opportunities at the
Perimeter College Learning & Tutoring Centers

The Dunwoody Learning and Tutoring Center (LTC) is looking for writing tutors!

LTC writing tutors help Perimeter College and GSU students with their academic and personal writing assignments. These include, but are not limited to, essays, research papers, lab reports, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, personal statements for admissions or scholarship applications, resumes, and other projects. Tutors help students at various stages from brainstorming to final proofreading by demonstrating the skills students need: For example, tutors do not write or proofread papers, but they show students how to do it themselves.

Tutors do not need to be subject matter experts, but they should have strong grammar skills and be able to help students with reading comprehension, literary analysis, and essay organization, as well as research skills and citation styles (APA, MLA, Turabian). In-lab resources are available to assist students with ESL or Accuplacer practice. Tutors occasionally fill in at the front desk or support other LTC staff as requested.

Graduate assistants in the LTCs receive a full tuition offset and a $500 stipend for working (up to) 20 hours per week during the semester.
