Hi all,
For any of you who are new hires as Grad assistants for our department or elsewhere (25 PP means 25 Park Place, the address of the College administration):
Subject: CAS Graduate Student On-Boarding Fair
Good morning,
The College Human Resources staff will be hosting an on-boarding fair for graduate students each day next week Monday, August 22 thru Friday August 26th from 9am – 12pm. We will have computers set up in 2608 in 25PP and college HR staff will be available to assist students with completing the required forms to be hired at GSU. The on-boarding fair is for students who have:
1. Received the e-mail from GSU HR Onboarding <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> requesting that they fill out the forms required for employment.
AND
1. Require assistance completing the forms.
An e-mail containing the link to the forms is sent to each student once their MSS Transaction is approved by University HR. Please do not refer students who have not received the e-mail. Students must be able to access their e-mail in order for us to assist them. If they have not received the e-mail, or are unable to access their e-mail, they will have to return at a future time. Students will be served each day on a first come-first served basis. This onboarding session does not apply to students who already have an employee id number, they have already completed required paperwork and have been officially hired. It will take 10-15 minutes for students to complete their forms.
Once the student has completed their onboarding paperwork, they will be able to schedule an appointment with University HR to confirm their I-9 documentation. Due to the volume of students, we are not able to offer this service in the College.
We will also have Notary Publics available to certify forms.
If a student is unable to attend the onboarding fair next week, they may contact Anita Williams at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to set up an appointment for a time that is convenient for them. Please have students wait until next week to schedule appointments. We need a few days to coordinate schedules and determine HR staff availability.
We hope this will help alleviate some of the delays new graduate student hires may have encountered with their pay last fall.
Please let your DGS, Department Specialists, and graduate students know. This on-boarding fair is limited to College of Arts & Sciences graduate students who have been recently hired for College of Arts & Sciences appointments and have not completed their onboarding paperwork.
Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information.
Thank you,
Erin
