JUNIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

DSS, Inc. is an International Company seeking diverse individuals to
join our dynamic team!

DSS Inc is hiring a select number of New Grads or Alumni (Bachelors or
Masters) to integrate into our development team located in the northern
section of Atlanta (about 45 minutes from DT ATL).

We are looking for candidates that have exhibited a propensity for
process oriented programming (PoP) within majors such as Computer
Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 3.0 GPA or
better and that have significant work, project or internship experience.
Veteranís Health Administration internship/experience highly desired.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Software Engineer promotes DSS, Inc.ís mission by
providing the highest quality software within a structured maturity
model environment.

The Junior Software Engineer will:
? Be afforded professional training certifications and mentoring
to effectively use M (MUMPS) to write new API modules for existing
products, APIs for new products, design and develop M routines, create
and modify VistA FileMan files, contribute to project plans, perform
product maintenance, and assist in providing solutions to problems as
required.
? Be a key member of the DSS project team and will be involved in
all aspects of the application including analysis, requirement
documentation, design, development and test site deployment.

The Junior Software Engineer must:
? Be willing to accept coaching in order to remove barriers and
have effective working relationships.
? Be willing to travel on an occasional basis, especially when
attending/obtaining training certification paid for by DSS.

In addition, the Junior Software Engineer is responsible for written
and verbal communication with other team members, documentation of
version notes, technical manuals, work activities and other work
processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Developing, building, debugging, coding and testing.
? Work on development of new features within existing products.
? Work on development of new products and contributing to project
plans.
? Adhering strictly to documentation requirements and update
deadlines.
? Provides feedback to the development team on a regular basis.
? Sharing development experiences.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
? Knowledge of one or more of the below:
o Process Oriented Programmer.
o Programming in Visual C, Visual Basic, C#, C++, JAVA
o Relational Database programming knowledge.
o Knowledge of data structures
o Logical Programming knowledge
o Ability to deconstruct and reconstruct code.
o API development skills.
? Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into
technical designs
? Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks
to meet critical project deadlines
? Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct
management
? Detail-oriented and Goal Oriented.
? Ability to work effectively (maintaining accuracy and
sensitivity) under tight timelines and schedules
? Ability to sense the importance or impact of issues and
situations and take appropriate actions
? Possess excellent listening skills and a commitment to
communicating (verbally and in writing) in a clear, concise and timely
manner at all times
? Ability to organize time effectively while identifying barriers
to progress, proposing solutions and setting priorities
? Ability to be effective in a rapidly growing organization
? Ability to handle large volumes of email (approximately 25 to 50
emails daily).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelorís degree (or higher) preferred; equivalent
combinations of work experience and or education will be considered.
? Project or internship experience desired.
? Veteranís Administration, Veteranís Health Administration
internship/experience highly desired.

ENVIRONMENT:
